Guy Spanking Himself Watching Horse Racing refers to a viral video of a man miming the motions of a jockey while watching horse racing. Such motions are seen in the audiences of Kentucky Derby-style races where viewers and sports betters engrossed in the game start bending over and mimicking the movements of the horse rider. This particular video went viral due to the over-the-top and unsubtle motions of the man watching the horses race, with viewers drawing attention to him repeatedly spanking himself on the butt, at one point even switching hands to spank his left cheek. The video first went viral on Twitter / X and Reddit in 2019, before becoming the subject of memes in 2024.

On September 3rd, 2019, Redditor[2] /u/BigBigB0i reposted the image to the subreddit /r/PublicFreakout, gathering over 22,000 upvotes on a post captioned, “Immersion Level: 100.”

On December 6th, 2024, TikToker[6] @expirednueces posted a video reenacting the original Guy Spanking Himself video, gathering over 5 million plays and 900,000 likes in two months.
